The large SEG contingent entered for the British Athletics Cross Challenge at Sefton Park were thwarted by the heavy snowfall in Sheffield overnight. Many of the athletes were unable to travel across the Pennines due to the treacherous conditions.

The brave souls who did make it to Liverpool were rewarded by an outstanding performance by Lauren Heyes in the SW race. Lauren finished 6th senior woman in 27.19 and gained selection to represent GB at the European Cross Country Championships in Dublin.

Katie Palfreeman also had a good run, finishing 16th U23 (40th overall) in 28.42.

In the SM race, James McCrae led home the SEG contingent in 88th in 31.09. Chris Laws was 100th in 31.27, Jed Bartlett 11th in 31.44, Leo Cossham 117th in 31.51 and Craig Fishwick 194th in 34.29.
