The conditions for the annual Percy Pud 10k were cold but calm.
Andy Heyes was involved in a tight race throughout, eventually finishing 2nd in 30.17.
There was a large contingent of SEG athletes in the following pack. Jamie Hall broke away towards the end to finish 3rd in 31.22. Euan Brown, hiding in the pack on the run in, managed to dip Connor Milnes on the lines for 4th with Connor 5th. Both were given the same time: 31.30. Jed Bartlett was just behind in 6th in 31.39. Matt Fuller was 10th in 32.51.
Rob Smith ran well to take 14th in 33.47 with Craig Fishwick 18th in 33.53.
Dylan Stevens, making his debut at 10k on the road, looked strong, finishing 21st in 34.01.
Christian Battersby was 25th in 34.16 with Richard Baker 33rd in 34.52.
Dave Nolan, making a welcome return to racing, was 88th in 37.28 and Jon Slate was 96th in 37.33.
Seb Muscroft, having decided to give the rest of the field a head start, was 179th in 37.33 with Stuart Barfield 186th in 39.35.
In the women’s race, Nicola Squires ran well to finish 6th in 38.03. Rachel Lungren also look strong, just behind in 7th (38.09). Lucy Farquhar, continuing her improvement over the winter, was 42nd in 43.03.
